Once upon a sunny day, a little boy and his dad were walking down a big hill. They saw a man coming up the hill, looking very hot and tired, carrying a big bag that made him lean over.
"What's in your bag? Why are you climbing this hill? It looks so hard!" the little boy asked, full of curiosity.
The man, catching his breath, explained, "My oven broke, and I needed much more durable stones to fix it. The valley had large shiny stones that would fix my small oven."
"Why don't you get more stones and make a bigger oven? Then you'd be warmer and be able to make more food on it," the boy suggested.
The man chuckled and said, "Oh, little one, you'll understand when you're older. Carrying stones is tough work. When you're my age, you'll be thankful for a small oven too."
The boy and his dad kept walking and met another man carrying a sack that looked just as heavy, but this man was smiling and seemed lighter on his feet.
"What's in your bag? Are you also fixing an oven?" the boy asked with a twinkle in his eye.
"No, no," the man beamed, "I found treasure! Diamonds, rubies, and pearls! I'm going to use them for my daughters' weddings, open a store, and build a beautiful house!"
"Why not find more diamonds and rubies?" the boy quickly asked.
The man smiled, "I've looked everywhere in the valley. I found all the treasure there was. There's nothing left down there."
As they walked on, the boy's dad explained, "See, when you're carrying something as special as diamonds, they don't feel heavy. The first man might have had diamonds too, but he didn't know it."
The dad continued, "Diamonds are like good deeds. Every good thing we do is very special and valuable. When you know you're carrying diamonds, you'll feel happy and light, and all your questions find answers. When you don't realize the good deeds are diamonds, the thought of doing more will feel heavy and burdensome."
Realize what we do has value and appreciate it, thank you.
